Haven't updated since I entered NTU.

Life is manageable, though not exactly great.

I miss my 0707 so much. I miss the 'friend' culture in TJ. In NTU, I get the feeling that everyone is fending for himself or herself. Selfishness is abound everywhere. There's no help when you need it. Oh well, TJ has sheltered us too much. Nevertheless, there's some nice people in my tutorial class, although I don't think I will ever experience the same kind of cosiness that I have in JC.

Projects are almost down. I truly marvel at the amount of projects that I have completed in a short span of 3 months. Accounting, Biz law report, IT biz plan, IT access, IT oral presentation, not to mention all the presentations for tutorials.

Took some quizes, didn't exactly do well. I'm quite screwed up for comm fund. Currently, it's a disastrous C- grade for comm fund. Gracious. :( Accounting quiz I thought it was easy, but I made so many so many so many careless mistakes. Carelessness is going to kill me one day. It's already killing me.

Exams is in a week time. Haven't started studying because of projects. I'm not stressed up, I'm just freaking tired. Tired like nobody's business. Plan is to recharge after this sem is over. Feel like going on a holiday, but with who? To where?

On a side note, I'm leaving Hall. Realised that hall life is not suited/conducive to my studying. Not because I'm busy with hall activities, but the hall is just too enclosed for my liking. I can't stand facing 4 walls a day after a long day of lessons. It's too zi bi and quiet for me, especially I'm used to a noisy and vibrant life at home. People need somewhere quiet to study, I need somewhere where there's a little noise, vibrancy and life. (:

Stay strong, Carol. (:

Had UOC pagent on last Saturday 22/8. I reached Attica slightly late at 7pm. Initially, I couldn't find the place and had to make many phone calls to Nicholas, AA and KaiXiang to find that place. In the end, AA came out to find me :) Went in to find my beloved Magnus gang and we had to stand throughout the entire pagent. The place was quite stinky as I assumed people vomitted on the carpet after clubbing the entire night. HANDSOME WEEBING got the 2nd runner up, and PRETTY JULIE was Ms Congenality! After the pagent, the guys were chased out of Attica because the age limit was 25 years and above for guys. We then went to Mac for supper and proceeded to Players where we ordered beer and played drinking games till the wee hours in the morning. Clement, Jia Hua and I then took night rider back to Tampines. When I reached Tampines, it was raining like crazy, so Clement had to lend me his umbrella and send me home. It was 4.30am w hen I reached home 5.30am when I slept. Goodness! No more late nights out -_-

Yesterday was my last day at Margarita's. Though it was my most tiring job till now (considering I've been slacking at nyp for 4 months), in a way I think it was the most rewarding. Not only did I learn about how a restaurant operates, I also learnt a lot about mexican cuisine, the different kind of wines, tequilas, liquor and what not. Not to mention carrying plates and trays that are DAMN HEAVY, calling people 'sir' and 'madam' that it is now second nature to me, faking a smile to the customer and chirping away to them when I'm so bloody tired at everything, and going in the kitchen to help customers take away their food. Goodness, I really can't stand going into the kitchen. Though it would only be for 15 minutes, I will come out looking greasy and positivly sweating like a pig.

I'm glad for this experience. Working at Margarita's made me open my eyes to the real world. No matter how desperate a situation you find yourself in, there will always be someone worse off than you; I've realised I am really blessed.

Blessed that I have a complete family who loves me.
Blessed with relatively good health.
Blessed that I have the financial means to pursue my university education.
Blessed that I have obtained my A level cert. [There are people who have to drop out of school to work, as they have to support their family]
And...perhaps in a way....blessed that I live in Singapore.

While I'm out there wondering whether to join hall camp or union camp, my colleague K is wondering how to pay for his mother's kidney dialysis bills, with his monthly pay of only $2000. He works two jobs a day, from 8am-5pm as a technician, then 6pm to 11pm at Margarita's.

While I complain about my family, there are people like T and U whose parents are divorced or are enstranged from their family.

While I judge people because they smoke, sometimes they smoke because they have no choice. It may sound like an illogical argument, but my colleague S got addicted to smoking because she used to work at this Arab street stall where she has to serve customers shisha. (Go look up if you don't know what is this, I'm too lazy to explain).

My workplace sounds like a drama. I love my colleagues for their spontaneity. Rich who always go "HI CAROL!" or "YES, CAROL!" or "OH, CAROL!" when I go to the bar to place orders for drinks. Prem who always gives me that goofy grin of his when he sees me talking /explaining stuff to customers or when I look in his direction. Donald, JH and Yen who always help me to carry the extra heavy plates, especially the humungous 30cm glass plate. Siti who will sing along to the music in the restaurant, forcing me to sing with her. And Calvin who always ask me to SMILE! when he sees me walking into the kitchen. My colleagues are a lovely bunch of people :)

BUT. I cannot stand the boss, who is coincidentally named CAROL too. What's worse is that apparently everyone hates/is scared of her, prompting comments such as 'Carol is such a bitch.' or 'F*** Carol'. It's damn weird to hear people talking bad about you, when you know they are not. They should seriously improve their staff welfare, or staff turnover is going to be high.

Still depressed, so went around the Net to cheer me up.

This picture is seriously awesome. Pull at the corner of your eyes to see what it says. (And I mean seriously pull at the corner of your eyes)

Whoever thought of this is a GENIUS.

And here's some cool chalk drawings done on the street. Don't they look real?

disfigured

I'm disfigured.
Dunno what the heall seafood I ate, now my whole face esp my nose exploded with rashes/pimples with pus. And I'm not kidding when I say it's A LOT.
Looks like I have some disease.
Doctor say will leave scars. Permanent scars. And brown patches on my nose. OH MY GOD.
Concealer can't even cover.
WA LAO, I'm damm upset.
I don't even dare to look at people when I talk. I look down on the ground when I walk. Stupid I feel so goddamm inferior. SAD SAD SAD.
Last time I used to complain about my whiteheads/blackheads on my nose, now this is like a million times worse. Don't take things for granted.
I LOOK LIKE A MONSTER.
:( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(
Reported for work yesterday, and even with the SUPER DIM lighting at the restaurant, my colleagues also asked 'aiyoh, what happened?!?' AHHHHH!!!!

Somemore I'm gaining weight cos didn't exercise for the past 3 weeks.
Something's wrong with my ankle and achilles tendon.
It's hurts like hell after a run.

Sorry for all this ranting, just that I'm damm upset right now.
I'm already ugly enough and now this has to happen.
And at a time when uni is going to start.
How to face people? :(

I am such a spendthrift.

The funny thing is that I don't spend much of my money on clothes. Instead, I spend most of my money on FOOD. YES, FOOD. Disastrous. Spent quite a bit on grocery shopping, buying lot's of snacks for Sandy (like Pringles + Pocky+ Hello Panda). I realise I'm turning into a mega auntie. I'm visiting NTUC/ Giant every week, stocking up on fresh produce for my family like vegetables, fruits and meat. It's fun shopping for your own groceries and food :) Is that what life next time will be like?

Work at NYP ends this Friday. I freaking can't stand the oh-so-predictable admin work. Staring at the computer everyday rots my already small brain. On another note, I'm sacked from my tuition assignments. I don't know whether to be relieved or sad (cause no more income!).

Gotten another job at Margarita's Restaurant at Dempsey Road, near Orchard Road. The pay kind of sucks, but oh well, at least I have lot's of time to myself. Seriously, I don't want to work from morning to evening for 2 more months. More on my new job. The working hours are quite horrible -6pm to 11pm, so no more evening engagements from now on. Oh well, at least I get to learn something and know more about fine dining :)
Went for 4/3 class gathering yesterday...felt that it was quite awkward since we have not met each other for a long long time. Lol....the ony people who I actually keep in contact is van, elisse and aiman. Lot's of quiet moments after all the customary uni and part-time jobs chit chat. Friends do really come and go. :(

In the midst of the class gathering, Kim and I went rollerblading. Ok, I 'rollerbladed' and Kim was there to help me cos she's already very PRO. As expected, I can't rollerblade!!! It's like trying to learn to walk all over again. After a few moments, I sort of get used to the feeling...my right leg started to blade but my left leg still walking. SIAN. I WANT TO LEARN ROLLERBLADING!

Then went for kickboxing class later in the night. The female instructor in super HOT!!! She's not skinny...in fact, she's of medium built but you can see that her whole body is made up of muscles! She's super super toned...and when we jumped about during the kickboxing exercise, you can see that her stomach/thighs doesn't flap about (Cos if you have fats, confirm will flap about when you jump haha)...and somemore her stomach is not only flat, but you can see muscles too! (not 6 pack by the way, just that you can see it's muscle not a flat and flabby stomach) She's really cool and motivating haha...kickboxing is really tiring...I cannot sustain the kicking and jumping around for 10 minutes :/ Then the instructor went '2 more 2 more...' Lol....But overall, it was a really fun experience! :)
