No longer a freshie

I'm free! Year 1 of uni is OVER! :D

Got back my facebook account from SM today. I realised that habits can really die, somehow, I don't feel the "excitement" logging into Facebook liao! Perhaps I've kicked that addiction?

Going for internship interview tomorrow. Pay is shitty and lousy, but job scope sounds okay. But my parents are quite against it because they said that "a dishwasher at some food court can easily earn more than that".

Tomorrow will be the start of my HEALTHY LIFESTYLE CAMPAIGN! First up, I'm going swimming at Safra! Wl was nice enough to lend me his safra card so it means I get to enjoy hot showers when I bathe after swimming! :D

On a side note, GOH SIEW MIN- I'm going to miss you so much when you go off to NUS next Sem! (Not to sound les of course) :( I realised I really xiang yi wei ming with you in nbs, and we sort of got much closer after spending one year together? And did you realised we have never taken a photo together throughout our entire year 1 in nbs!?!

Ikea is the new place to mug

Seems like I'm blogging more and more during this exam period. BLEAH. Am online now trying to read up stuff for marketing, but seriously, I don't know what to read up on! It's like a hit and miss subject for me. Really hope I'll leave the exam hall :D :D :D on Wednesday, instead of that shitty feeling I had for OB. Please give me stuff to crap on! Damm scared that everyone will be scribing like mad and I'll be staring at the paper and flipping my textbook. =.=

I went to mug at IKEA today, and I feel that it's quite a nice place to study! Personally, I cannot study in too quiet environments (like the library) because I'll be even more distracted. (Weird huh). Ikea is a fab place because it's big and sunny and airy (I sat next to the windows so the sun was shinning brightly on my paper- LOVE IT!). Moreover, there was food. Plenty of food in fact. I reached Ikea at 9.30am, and grabbed this breakfast set consisting of a croissant, german sausages, hashbrowns and scrambled eggs! $3 ONLY! Definitely better value for money as compared to MacDonald's breakfast. Then at noon, I was hungry again, so went to buy my favourite Ikea Meatballs :D Spent quite a lot, but it was worth it!

I think Ikea is the new place for people to mug...because I saw several groups of people studying there too. No one ever chases you away. And when I was bored, I went to shop around in Ikea and took a look at all those furniture hahah (typical aunty behavior right).

Even my parents think my mugging places are really weird, because I went to the FOOD COURT to mug last Saturday with Jasmine for Stats paper. There's this halal food court in Century Square which is rather nice to study too! And the desserts there are really nice! Speaking of Jasmine, I really think it's quite cool how the both of us managed to meet each other and became friends. I met her through a scholarship tea session last year because I wanted to apply for the Firefly scholarship. Then we realised that both of us were going to nbs, and even stayed in Tampines. And that's how we managed to keep in contact all these months, gossiping about eye candies in nbs, chatting on msn and even mugging together. Fate I guess?

Ok, off to mug for mrkting again! Really happy that Chelsea won the match against Liverpool on Sunday. POSITIVE SIGN! Hopefully they will win the league again! :D

WORLD CUP!

The 2010 WORLD CUP IS HERE! Just heard the song for the 2010 World Cup, and sorry, it left me very bewildered. The song is "Waka Waka" by Shakira. Wait, isn't Waka the game I used to be addicted to on Facebook?
And what's with the "African" Language in the song? But nevertheless, looking forward to the World Cup! And time sure passes very fast. I still remember 4 years ago when I fervently supported Germany. They lost to Italy in the Semi Finals, but went on to beat Portugal 3-1 to get the third place finishing. And of course, 2006 marks the year Michael Ballack transferred to CHELSEA hahah! Aiman could never understand my fixation with Michael Ballack, but it soon became a running joke during my Sec 4 years....:D

In the midst of exams. 2 down, and 2 more to go. Acc and Ob didn't go well for me, and when I say it didn't go well, it means it is really disastrous. Careless mistakes, no time to complete...BLEAH. Left with Stats and Marketing. Feeling confident for Stats? (I hope so, hope that I don't screw up for linear programming and Hypothesis testing). Haven't touch marketing at all (and marketing is another OB because marketing lectures are like story telling sessions, when we listen to Prof Hooi's stories but never really absorb what he's saying. But luckily, there's 7 days after Stats to mug for marketing.

Really looking forward to the end of exams! I think one of the best feelings one could ever have is the end-of-exams feeling! But lot's of things to do after exams though. For one, I really need to get back into shape. Exam season is always damaging to my body because of the lack of sleep (resulting in bad skin and pimples) and binge eating (weight gain!) My friend told me yesterday that ever since he entered nbs, he's been losing weight like crazy cause of the stress. But for me, it's the completely opposite. I use food as a source of comfort (which is really bad), and that's why I always BALLOON up during this period. So definitely need to get back into shape. lol!

Another thing I'm considering is whether to take up a job during this 4 months. I know I will be busy with UOC stuff, but I need to earn some money because my bank account balance is dwindling like crazy, and parents still don't want to give me allowance leh (since they say my bank account still got money). BUT BUT BUT my own money is for buying my own stuff leh, not for my daily living expenses :( I have got an internship offer at some place I would not disclose yet, but the pay is a measly $500/month. Still don't know whether I should take it.

SOMETHING RANDOM! I'm really looking forward to my Krabi Trip!

the usual exam rants

Good things never lasts.

This sem might have been tough, but at least it was going fine for me.
And just when I hought everything was going yi fan feng shun, my acc project got a B. Yes, a disastrous B. Quite sad, ok make that very sad, because I really enjoyed working with my acc group, and I thought we would get an A- at the least. What makes it worse is that it's bloody 20%. TWENTY PERCENT. It kinds of screw things up, because I keep having this feeling that no matter how hard I work for my finals, it will still remain at a B grade, hence pulling my whole GPA down. B is only 3.5, and even if I do well for the rest of the modules, my GPA will be cui too. Sigh. I knew my good luck wouldn't last long.

Exams in a few days time, and I'm so unprepared for it. I keep telling myself to work at my own pace and not to be affected by others. But sadly, my progress is really slow, cause I haven't been doing my OB readings consistently since the start of the sem, and I am having difficulty trying to catch up on my readings and mug at the same time. It really sucks when I see people doing exam papers, and here am I, struggling to complete my readings.

Ok, off to rest for a while and continue with my OB readings. NLB tomorrow with Sm Goh (hope I don't oversleep). Sm and I were saying today that we are really the same "kuan" during exams. Carol, you can do it :D :D

updates

Hectic sem once again in nbs. What's new? But things are looking great for me. Just hope that this can continue till this sem ends. :)

Had accounting mid terms this Wed, sad to say, I am not confident of getting the grade that I want. Too many careless mistakes once again. And I didn't read some stuff which came out. -.-

Squatted in hall from Tue to Fri due to accounting test and marketing presentation. Sometimes, I think to myself: Was it a mistake / a rash decision to leave my hall for my house? The 2 hour journey sometimes takes a toll on me, and more often than not, I arrive home tired and sian. And when projects come, I really wish I had a room in hall to go to, and not chiong the train back home to Tampines. And I feel bad for imposing on Sm and Angeline. Sm and Angeline, sorry for the times I had to stay in your room :( And sm, thanks especially for lending me your mattress and pillow and table. You're really one great roomie! But, I told myself not to regret cause at one time last year, the decision was what I wanted. I love my home to much, and I think I was a bit sian of going back to my four walls in hall every day. So given a choice now, I think I would still make the decision to travel to and fro to school :)

On a side note, my first ever marketing assessed presentation is OVER! I ♥ ♥ ♥ my marketing group! I think we really worked well together, and had fun in the process! One of the best project teams I have worked in so far :) Thanks Cl, Linghui, Jiawei and Angeline for making Summer Frost a success! I really hope we can get the A (which I think we deserve after putting in so much hard work for it). And I think Cl really wasted a lot of petrol on this project, because he keeps driving us to and fro from his hall, to NBS, to Can 2 and to whatever place we go. So after Summer Frost, next up for marketing will be Viagogo!

On a side note, I really really need to step up on reading my marketing textbook and OB text. My readings are accumulating like mad, and exams are only in a few weeks time?!? (I think).

Somethings to keep me excited and going:
1) KRABI Trip! (Yes, I'm going to Thailand!) Krabi is this resort in Thailand which resembles Phuket, but it's less crowded than Phuket. The trip is organised by NTU ODAC, and I will be going with Aiman, my secondary school friend. Since the trip is from 1aug to 6 aug right after uoc, I guess I will be really tired on the plane! But I'm damm excited by the activities on the itinerary! There's snorkelling, cliff diving, elephant trekking, kayaking and SHOPPING!

2) Msia Trip with my Magnus!

Need to look for a job! Money in bank account depleting like siao.
