DIVING

I'm so tempted to learn diving! Asked Sun Leng who got her Open Water license with NTU Divers, and she said it only took her about 1 week to get her license. Basically, it costs about $500 and includes Theory lessons, pool lessons and 4 actual dives to Pulau Dayang or Tioman. The cost is a huge deterrent though. I need to SAVE SAVE SAVE, since I don't see my parents sponsoring this. In fact, they did not even approve of me going to Krabi this holidays because of all the water sports that I would be doing. They are scared that I will drown or what not. But, I had already made all the necessary payment myself and confirmed the Krabi trip, before telling my parents a few weeks prior to the trip. I was lucky that they didn't go ballistic on me.

Anyhow, back to diving. Year 2 seems impossible to learn diving as I have to go on a 10 week internship during my 11 weeks vacation (Yes, that means NO holidays for year 2 wth! All cos of YOG, our summer break in Yr 2 is shorten) :( I was thinking that maybe I can do this for my grad trip in Yr 3! I need a dive buddy! Who wants to learn diving :D

I've been staying home the past week (except for M group dinner on Friday), and I must say, I love the feeling of lying in bed and not feeling any pressure to get up! I could tell that my parents are happy that they got to see me more often during dinner, and even when I got home at 2am on Friday after M group dinner (yes, horrible timing at 2AM), they did not even nagged at me! Of course, there's money saved from all those lunches/dinners outside.

These 3 weeks

Finally back home! Been away for 3 weeks from home because of a really hectic schedule. Sometimes I wonder why do I like jetting around so much (2 days at home in a total of 3 weeks)

19th -23rd July: NBS Camp
24th: Rest at home
25th-30th: UOC Camp (M GROUP :D)
31st: Rest at home
1st-6th Aug: Krabi and Phuket

I was a fake freshie for NBS camp, and revealed myself on the third day to the freshies. Some of them were kind of stunned, especially those freshies whom I was closer to. It was quite sian playing games like Nanyang Lake all over again, although it was kind of an major ego boost when I heard people shouting my name when sliding down Nanyang Lake hahahahah. I went to NBS camp with an open mindset because I don't really know the people there very well. Afterall, I was pulled into Kosac to join as a Senior Attached, whereas the rest of the seniors had already known each other for about a year. It is hard to break into the senior clique, which resulted in me becoming much closer to the freshies than the seniors (especially since I was a fake freshie for a few days, playing all the mud and dirty games with the rest of the freshies- I felt kind of sad that they weren't from my batch) But overall, it was quite an experience joining NBS camp, and I must say I really got to know more people from my own faculty.

After NBS camp, it was time for UOC! This is the camp that I was involved in for a year, and this is the camp that I really look forward too! I'm glad that even after a year, Magnus and M group is so close. I feel really happy whenever I'm out for outings with them :D They are the people who really make my NTU days a much more enjoyable and liveable one! Jia Hua and I cried when they announced the best GL award because my GL, Clement, is THE BEST GL! It's been a long and hard journey for him throughout the past 1 year, but I'm really glad that I voted for him to be our GL one year ago.

Then, it was off for Krabi. Signed up for the trip not really knowing anyone (unless you count Aiman whom I didn't really keep in contact with for the past few years. Although she was one of my closer friends in Sec School :X) I really enjoyed the Krabi trip...because I got to experience a lot of new things and water sports! Activities like snorkelling, cliff jumping (really scary experience), mudfight in the middle of the river, kayaking, climbing up 1270 stairs to visit a shrine at the top of the mountain, elephant trekking in the middle of the jungle (where the elephants will just wade across the river bed and pass through the dense forest), going into the natural hot springs, Thai massage almost everyday etc etc.

Krabi was a very laidback place. Dinner could take 45 mins to 1 hour to be served, but no one complains. We just sat down on the mats/chairs, listening to the live band and watched performances like fire twirling and magic tricks. After this, I'm motivated to learn diving next sem! I am thinking of joining with NTU Divers. At the cost of about $500, I will be able to get my dive license and go on 2 dive trips to Tioman. :D

i'm back!

Back from a 3days and 2 nights holiday from Genting! Really had fun! It's not so much of the attractions in Genting per se, but it's more of the company. My group is seriously a fun bunch of people, and I haven't laughed so much since...goodness knows when. But somebody got outcasted, and he became the target of everyone's "outcasting"...

This is going to be a bimbo post. I went to Watsons just now on a shopping spree, and spent quite a bomb :( Need to curb my spendthrift habits...Replenished my cleanser, conditioner and shampoo. Really don't understand why I have to pay for all these when it's used by the household?! Sorry I know I sound damn niao (dialect for stingy), BUT my heart really ache when I see my money going out from my bank like nobody's business.

Turning into a makeup junkie because boss says must put on makeup when meeting clients and all that. According to them, it's a form of RESPECT cos you don't want to look like you just got out of bed when meeting them. Makeup burns a huge hole in my pocket. Another reason why it's great to be a guy. Anyway, I went to Keppel Fels last Friday to attend some briefing for an oil rig naming ceremony. Boss told me to go there myself, and to cab there from Tampines. The taxi fare was a whopping $45. SIAO. I could see that the taxi driver was really happy when I heard I was going to Joo Koon. The briefing was boring, but got to network with other people from other events company.

I'm getting addicted to Gossip Girl. I know it's kind of late that I'm only starting on the episodes now, but it's damm addictive with all the backstabbing and bitching :D Jasmine and I LOVE CHUCK! Next week is going to be a busy week! And I'm going to GENTING! Not feeling very excited now, but oh well, perhaps the excited feeling will come as the day draws near.

I don't want to think about this

You know that you're stressed, when you just ate a whole bar of chocolate by yourself. And yes, I just did that. And no, it's not work related. I have been thinking about this for the past few days, and I have not come to an answer as to what I should do.

Just came back from swimming at Safra. It's been so long since I gave my muscles a good stretch, since I'm practically coped behind the desk 9 hours a day, 5 days a week. And when I get home, I'm usually too tired to do anything else other than nua on my bed. As I went to swim at night, the lights in the swimming pool reflected on the bottom of the pool,forming many flickering swirls of white images. It was really a pretty sight :) Oh, and I forgot to bring my towel. So I was a soaking mess after I bathe, and water was dripping down my hair onto my shirt like crazy, as I cycled back to my house. I think those passer-bys who saw me probably thought I was some deranged woman, because my whole body was dripping wet. -.-

By the way, I saw this optical illusion thing on my friend's blog just now. I guess many of you have already seen this before.

The amazing thing is that this woman used to spin anti-clockwise to me at first glance. But now, when I took a look at it, it actually spins CLOCKWISE! I googled "spinning woman" and this was what I found: If clockwise, then you use more of the right side of the brain and vice versa. And here are some of the right brain functions:

I was so bloody pissed off at someone yesterday. Long story, and I'm lazy to explain. My bloody really boiled to the max, and I ALMOST wanted to said the f word to him (you can see how mad I was as I am not even a person who swears). I realised that when you absolutely dislike someone, you find everything about him irritating, and everything about him really starts to get on my nerves. Amazingly, everyone found him to be damm shuai looking. Even the GUYS who saw his fb were like "wow, good looking sia". His cocky attitude and the way he thinks that he's always right spoils everything. Luckily I saw the funny offline message that my friend left me on msn, and that's why I didn't explode right there and then.

Luckily, my colleagues at work keep me sane. Speaking of my colleagues, I'm really thankful for such a funny and bunch of people who I work with everyday. :D
