i finally know what is this!

Ok...

I know I'm damm noob.

I ate this wonderful toasted bread today. It's like toasted sandwich, but the ends like stuck together so that they resemble a curry puff. Tried to find out what it was for a few hours...googled it but all that came out were pictures of normal toasters.

Finally found out that it's a sandwich maker! I didn't even know that such things exist!

Looks delicious right? :)

Read Inkheart.
It was a wonderful wonderful story.
I'm glad to acutually start reading again, because I really thought I've lost the passion for reading.

Reading Change of Heart by Jodi Picoult now. Her books are really enlightening.

Job is really boring.
I feel very guilty for taking FREE money everyday.
My job doesn't make me value $, at the rate I 'working'.
Come to work.
Switch on computer.
Read books.
Read TODAY newspaper.
Read tuition materials.
Surf websites.
Watch anime.
Watch drama.
Watch movie.
AND LASTLY...key in some data throughout the day (which onyl takes like 1 hour if you add all the work up)
GUILTY GUILTY GUILTY. :(
But Zhilin says: It's FREE money. Don't need to feel guilty. People give you money, just take.
But I'm not used to getting paid without putting in any hard work. :(
It's wrong (at least to ME)

I've an impulse to go away on a holiday.
With my friends. With my own money.
Especially to Vietnam or Thailand.
But I know that's seriously impossible given my parents' overprotectiveness.
Too dangerous, they say.
When can I grow up?
Taiwan, HK and Malaysia seem to be a better choice.
But oh well, I have to find out the prices and do the research first.
Hopefully, by July, I would have saved enough money to go travelling.
Getting away from Singapore can be such a breather sometimes.
Sometimes...I really wished I was not born in this sunny sunny island.
Sometimes.

Been reading raghu's blog at elninoraghuram.blogspot.com.
I like his posts.
Talking with Raghu can be enlightening too.
Sometimes.
I know I need to get out my my shell and become more confident of myself.
Not to be so self-conscious of my appearance, dressing and the way I talk.
But I'm still an introvert at heart.
I will work hard!

Getting addicted to blogshops thanks to those part-timers at nyp.
Vania is super super hip! :) :) :)
You can practically order your stuff, make payment at the atm machine and just wait for your stuff to arrive. It's that simple and it just takes like less than 30 minutes.

tuition

Gave my first ever tuition on Saturday.

Subject: Chem

The guy told me that if he does not get a B4 for his upcoming Chem test on Wednesday, he would have to drop the subject. Quite sad actually cause I really think I can help him in the long run to get an A. Cause he's a smart guy =) But I think he has a sad life. Apparently he is a national swimmer and he swims day and night.

Hope that he can get the B4 that he needs, and we will see how to proceed from there.

Got another upcoming tuition this Sunday.

Subject: H2 Math

The girl is from the Integrated Programme at Dunman High. Why does she need tuition? =(
I got a horrible feeling for this, because my math really sucks. I got to where I am now through mere hard work, not intellect!

This week

So Friday was my last day working at Popular! I'm finally liberated! I was crazily happy the whole day! Did all the things that I'm actually not supposed to do- eat an egg tart in the office when it's not yet my dinner time; talked (a lot more than last time); sat down on the floor while I was returning all the stocks to the vendors; didn't mop the floor properly. Yeah, you get the general idea. Didn't tell anyone that I was leaving, except for some of my cool colleagues and some of the part-timers. So here's to my new job next Monday at nanyang poly. :)

Wednesday's the day when sm, jz, elisse and I went teohenging. Elisse got a voice that will make you go WOW! Her switch from low pitch to high pitch is definitely amazing woah! Project superstar/ singapore idol/ don't forget the lyrics; here she comes :)

Today's the day when sm and I went mapling. Started to queue up at 7.30am and we managed to see Dr. Ong at 3pm. I guess we were quite lucky cause we were the last three patients who were allowed to see here. :) Hopefully, my skin will be better by the end of this year, cause I want a nice complexion like fan fan. It's really not fair why some guys get to have flawless complexion! :) I shall remain optimistic :)

Then rushed home after buyinh $148 worth of medicine to do my cpf stuff. Luckily sm enlightened me to opt out of the dps insurance scheme.

My goal for the remaining month of Feb:
- to drink more water.
- apply all my medicine religiously.

Tagged

Tagged by Zhi Lin; and so here's some weird stuff about me. I shall not do the complete 25 list though...shall just stop when I cannot think of anymore :)

1. I'm totally in love with the song by Iron& wine: Flightless Bird, American Mouth! That's one of the nice tracks in the horrible movie- Twilight.
2. I need to listen to my playlist of "lullabies" before I can fall asleep. And the above song is in my playlist!
3. I suffer from insomia. I sleep at random times like 3am and wake up at horrible times like 12pm during holidays.
4. I prefer to watch movies alone then with a crowd.
5. When I'm sad, I will go and watch a movie on my own.
6. When I need to think through something, I will sneak out at night, go to the playground downstairs and stone by myself.
7. I'm getting addicted to running in my attempt to lose weight. I love running at 10pm at night...i love the night brezze. :)
8. I don't have a favourite colour. It depends on my mood.
9. I want to take a hiatus after I graduated, do some travelling and backpacking; before I start to work. My parents say they can lend me some money but I have to repay them with interest included.
10. I'm already thinking of retirement although I've not started work yet.
11. I enjoy books, good food and nice music. So I'm thinking of combining all these three together to start up something after I've retired.
12. I have a phobia of singing in front of an audience, although I was in a choir once. That's why the last time I went k-boxing was in Sec 2. But that shall change cause I'm going teo heng today with the girls!
13. I love english songs more than chinese songs. I love listening to 987FM cause of the totally wacky programme "Muttons at Midnight"!
14. I've watched 13 movies in the past week, NOT on youtube and NOT even spending a cent :) That's the only benefit at the place I'm working now.
15. I miss my JC life.

That's it. I shall not tag anyone else.

My mundane working life

And so I have worked for almost 2 months at Popular. Really miss the good old days at TJ :) Planning to quit on 6th Feb, though I do not know how to tell my boss. But the silver lining is that She (the boss) absolutely hates me after the-supposedly-reading-book-while-wrapping-books incident, which is a horribly long story. But there's one good thing that's come out of these two months: I realised how important it is to get a job that gives you the satisfaction, the drive and motivation to keep you going everyday. No offence taken, but I cannot understand how some people can work there for 8 or 9 years with a pay of $1000 odd per month. Told my mum about that and she just replied with a simple "That's life." And she then emphasized the importance of studying hard so that you can choose the job, and not the job chooses you. That's my parents for you, but I can totally identify with their words. Can't imagine that I have to work for 30 plus years before I can retire.

Ok, shall stop bitching about my job. But what's ironic is that when I'm studying, I want to work. And when I'm actually working now, I can't wait to get back to school.

On a side note, I want to take up piano again, especially after all youtube surfing of songs. There are so many piano versions of songs that I love, and I really hope to play them, just like the past. :) I don't want my life to be just about working working and working. No point earning so much money just to spend it on clothes, food and entertainment. Which is exactly my very mundane life now. :/ Also have a sudden impulse to take up baking and rollar blading. I know. Not the most exciting of activities.
